Saturday we had great weather and it just so happened that Todd had his first baseball game of the season. I took the kids up for the last half of the game so they could watch Todd play. Elijah was so excited to see the game in progress. Todd was pitching and it was like Elijah's dream world was in front of him. When Todd wasn't pitching he would pitch to Elijah on the side line. We brought all of his baseball equipment so he could play too. Although after the first few times Todd had to go back onto the field Elijah wasn't a happy camper. He wanted daddy to keep playing with him. Everyone loved watching Elijah hitting, pitching, sliding and running his bases. He definitely put on a show and pulled out his best because he knew he had a crowd watching him. When the game was over we let him get on the field hit the ball off his tee and run the bases.
This morning I heard him from his crib talking about outside daddy and baseball. Too bad Todd doesn't have another game next week, Elijah will have to wait until the following week to see him again.
Today during Sunday School they were talking about being helpful. So as the teacher was asking each kid how they could be helpful, Elijah said baseball. I guess in his world baseball is helpful after all it baseball is his love language. :)
