Sending off our lives

This afternoon we sent a huge package of documents off to America. PLEASE join us in asking that this package gets there safely and quickly. (Things can be a little sketchy from over here. You never know if something will be opened or what!) They don't have a way to track packages like in America so it is all in the postal care of this country. We sent off our I-800A form as well as our Dossier packet. All together that is 26 documents. A lot of them are originals, certified and notarized things. More importantly they contain a lot of detailed information about us!

We were going to just send in our I-800 A form but then we realized that in a little while we will have to send the rest of the documents for our Dossier so why not do it all at the same time and save some money. We will send these things to Todd's parents who will add a few documents they have there and send things off for us. We can't send off our Dossier without the approval for Immigration (which is the reason for the I-800A form) so that has to be sent off and approved first. Then we will get that letter send to Todd's parents who will add it to our Dossier packet and send it off for us when the time comes.

We are also hoping that ALL of the documents are correct and everything is there as it needs to be. We have heard of other people's experiences where they had something wrong on a document that lead to a delay. We have checked and rechecked documents multiple times.

We were working down to the line today to get everything we needed ready to send off. So I quickly snapped a couple of pictures of the packets before Todd left running out of the apartment to make it to the post office in time before they closed. Thankfully he just barely made it. :)

The first picture is of the lists of documents we need for 3 different groups (1st column is for our agency, the second is for CIS and the 3rd is for our Dossier. All together it is 56 documents = adopted child. What is being sent in the mail is column 2 and column 3.
