Exciting News

So we have some unexpected news... we have pictures of a little boy!

We are working on the paperwork to accept his referral for adoption. Now this doesn't mean we get him right away, it just means we have a name and pictures and medical papers. We have to wait about a week and a half to get our pre approval letter and then another couple of months for our letter of approval. At that point it means the child is officially ours. Then we have to wait on Immigration again and we wait for Travel approval and things like this. So we are looking at 5-6 months before we can go pick him up.

We were not expecting to get a referral this fast. Our dossier was sent back to this country not long ago so we didn't know we had a log in date. The log in date is very important in the adoption world. Once you are logged in you can get matched with a child. Our agency pulled some strings to get us logged in so that the very day we got logged in a new list of children was put out and we immediately got matched. We were notified Sunday night but unfortunately we were asleep so it wasn't until Monday morning when I read email and then we had to wait until Tuesday to talk to our contact in America.

We are waiting for our pre approval letter to come to show pictures to our family. This just so happens to fall around the time we will be heading back to America. Hopefully we will be able to share the pictures we have of this little guy to our family and friends in person.

Another family here in our city got their letter of approval last night. They have had a long journey to get their little girl and so we could rejoice with each other about getting good news for both of us. We are really lucky to have some families who have adopted and are adopting around us to be of support to one another. It is really a blessing!

So we are excited! Hopefully in a few weeks I can show some pictures. :)
