Valentine's Day

This year we were in Bangkok for Valentine's Day. We went out (with the kids) to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and walked around some. Here are some pictures from our night. Hopefully sometime in the future we will be able to have a babysitter to watch the kids so we can go on a date. We were out of town last year and next year we will be gone again.

We are Home!

We got home a couple of days ago. I am very thankful that the kids slept well yesterday so I could unpack our bags, put things away, sort laundry, do a couple of loads of laundry, write out a grocery list, made some biscuits, pack away some toys, organize the other toys, clean out our storage areas, put away the groceries, clean all of the veggies and fruit and stored them away in the fridge, cook some apples and green beans for Elijah, make dinner, and make some magnets for displaying pictures on our refrigerator. I felt really accomplished. :)
Todd made a trip to the grocery store, the import store, and another store to get all the items we needed. So with him gone most of the day, with Ev sick and Elijah taking a long nap I got all of that done. Ev woke up around 9:00am and went down for a nap along with Elijah at 11:00am. She didn't wake up until after 5:30pm! She went back down for bed at 8:00pm and didn't wake up today until almost 8:00am. Today she seems better. She didn't play at all and within a few hours of waking up she was playing again.
For the magnets I used a few Christmas ornaments and some magnetic tape. I put ribbon over the tape to make them look better and added some magnetic tape to the back of the Christmas ornament frames.

Pictures

The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Well Elijah is getting back to his normal self. He still has a runny nose and cough but we think the rest of the junk is over. I took him to the doctor again and his ears finally are better. The past 2 weeks have been rough on our little guy so we are hoping he will gain back the weight he lost and stay clear of getting sick for a while. (We are crossing our finger for our last 2 flights... hopefully we ALL will stay healthy!)

In the middle of getting sick Elijah's 2 top teeth came through at the same time. He has gotten up on in the position to crawl. Looks like he will take off shortly. He is turning 9 months old in a few days. He absolutely hates baby food and after tasting table food he doesn't want to go back.

We took the kids to one of the malls here and saw Madagascar 2 at the IMAX theater. It was so fun watching Ev get excited every time we saw a poster of the movie. Elijah slept through part of his first movie experience. Todd got a short video of Ev dancing as the credits were rolling. It was too cute.

Still Sick

We've been on vacation since Friday. On Friday morning we went to another city and I took Elijah to see the doctor. This doctor put him on medicine for the mucus in his chest, he is on an antibiotic for his stomach virus and ear infections, he is on a medicine for diarrhea and he is on Tylenol to keep his fever down. 3 days later we are still fighting off all of the sickness. Poor baby still has a runny nose, cough, fever, ear infections and diarrhea! Yesterday he threw up and today it seems that his ears are worse as he tugs at them and screams after a few sips of his bottle. All day he is screaming as we try to get formula in him every chance we can. We are WORN OUT! We feel bad for my brother who has come all this way to hang out with us. He has witnessed his share of crying, screaming, forcing medicine down, not to mention our 2 year old with her fits, her screaming and not so fun behavior. Maybe after this vacation with us he will want to be single forever.
We are here at the beach for another couple of days until we go back to the main city where we took Elijah to the hospital. We will go again to see the doctor and spend a few more days there before we travel to another city for a day and a half before we get home. When we get home we will have been traveling for 7 weeks. I think we will all sleep forever once we get home. Home sweet home!

Sickness

Well after 4 days of someone in the family being sick I finally fell victim to it. We are in meetings right now so our day starts at 8:15am until 5:00 every day for the last week and it continues this week until Thursday. Last Thursday Elijah got a cold and the same day Ev got a fever. Meaning they couldn't stay in child care. We had them the whole day while we tried to stand in the back with them while we listened. It wasn't really successful. The next day I was able to put them back in child care but then I got called to go get Ev who had diarrhea and at the same time Elijah wasn't eating. So the next day we had them out again. By the following day Ev still just had a little fever so I took her and Elijah to the medical clinic set up here and they found out that Elijah has an ear infection in BOTH of his ears. The next morning Todd woke up to watch the Super Bowl and instead started throwing up and having diarrhea. With Elijah on antibiotics I sent him and Ev back to day care so I could go to the day long meetings while Todd was sick in our room. During lunch I checked on every body and got Todd to go to see the doctor at the medical clinic so he could hear from her that he needed to be staying hydrated. Then today after hopes of staying clear of the fevers, colds and other not so fun things. I got up to get the kids to breakfast and off to child care since Todd was still throwing up and I have what Todd does but not all of it and to a much lesser degree. Hopefully the kids will stay clear of what we have. So this week of mtgs haven't been fun for us. I stayed in today so that I could rest since being the mom even though I am sick I still have to take care of everyone else!

Please ask that we would all get over what we have. The kids still have 2 days left in childcare. Most likely they got what they did from the other kids. We will leave here and go on vacation with my brother flying in from the States. We really hope that we will be well and be able to enjoy the time with my brother.

8 Months

A week or so ago Elijah turned 8 months old. Our little guy loves to eat, smile, laugh, watch his sister and sits up by himself. He gets his knees up and rolls himself to get around. He decided that he doesn't like baby food anymore so I've been giving him more table food. I've given him bread, cheese, some turkey, soft veggie crackers and well anything we would offer him he would eat. He can really pack it away. I guess that doesn't surprise me, he has been cute and chubby since he was a month old. He likes to growl, grunt and recently he started making farting sounds. :) Gotta love little boys. I weaned him while we were in America, he had his first experience with daycare, he no longer uses his sleep positioner or his swaddle and I feel like he is growing up too fast. I want him to stay a baby for a while longer. He still likes to cuddle with his mommy so I am going to hold onto that as long as I can.
