Yes He is Exactly Like His Daddy!
Last weekend we traveled with Todd and the local baseball team to another city for a baseball game. Todd has started coaching at the elementary school near our house. Todd put on his coaches uniform and walked out into the living room, Hobs stopped in his tracks and in awe said, "WOW Dad!" The school our local team played against is our people group. So they haven't seen many white people and especially white kids so you can imagine that we got plenty of attention. At one point the kids and I were completely surrounded by school kids who were staring at us and not the baseball game! There were moments where the kids were so close to us that the crowd was pushing each other onto us and I was holding my kids up so they wouldn't fall. Some kids would bravely ask the kids in English, "what is your name?" Ev and Ian wouldn't reply but Hobs got right up in their faces and proudly announced, "Poo Poo!" As it was made very evident to me Hob's thrives in crowds and with lots of people, the other two, like me, don't! At one point we probably had at least 100 kids surrounding our family as we were walking to leave the school- one tall white foreigner who could speak their language and 3 little white kids was the talk of the day. After the game we went to eat lunch with the team, the other coaches and the principal. The principal also caught on that Hob's personality is different from the other two... she even made the connection, Oh he is like his dad, the other two are like their mom!

Summer Hairstyles
Ev and I have been working together on hairstyles. I saw on pinterest where a lady took pictures of various hairstyles for her daughter and put them in an album so her daughter in the morning could pick out which style she wanted. I thought we could do that so we searched the web for some new hairstyles. Ev's picked them out and it is fun to work with her long hair since mine is short. Here are the ones I've taken pictures of so far.
This one is called the mermaid braid
I made this one up by braiding the bottom of the twisted things together
I've done this one two ways, one by braided each bun and one without braiding.

Changes to the Play Room
I decided to hang up the kids dress up clothes out in the balcony. They can now see their clothes and dress up every day.
This is our preschool corner of the playroom. The boys will have this space to do their work while Ev has the other side of the room.
This is a new bookshelf we got and I love it as a room divider/ book corner area.
Here is Ev's side of the room. See her artwork hanging up?

Ev had an eventful weekend. Friday night after waiting a week for dad to come home, we (mom) pulled out her first tooth. It was a little traumatic for her, dad held her and I did the pulling cause daddy didn't want to do it! I should have pulled both of them out at the same time but I didn't. But by Sunday the second tooth was just hanging there so dad held her and all I did was lift the tooth up out of the socket. She didn't even realize I had it in the washcloth until I showed her. She was very brave and glad not to have to eat slowly anymore. She was rewarded with new Disney princess dolls and two silver dollars(one for each tooth). I am hoping it may be a little while before her top front teeth come out or else she will have some major issues eating. :) When did my little baby girl grow up?

Sewing Projects
This was my first time to sew a bag since high school home ec class. Got the pattern from here:diana hobo
I added my own pockets and lots of them to fit specific items and one of my favorites a loop to hold my keys.
I've made all of these pillow cases but the middle one is the one I made recently. 3 of them came from 4 of Todd's old shirts.
I was so excited about the first bag that I made another one... maybe I will give it to someone as a present?
I also made 3 pillowcases to add a new kick to my red couches but don't have pictures of those yet.

Started off with a birthday haircut
Here is his precious pose
He picked this location and everything he's watched me with his other siblings and figured he'd tell me how and where he wanted to pose for his birthday pictures
Being true to himself
maybe it is because he sees Todd give me open mouth poses...
This pose cracks me up. He did this on his own I call it the "senior picture pose"... seriously have I seen this before? Did Todd have a senior picture like this?
To my Hawaiian, baseball loving, goof ball, who seriously is funny, who loves his mama as well as loves his dog, any small toy car, loves to play outside, now officially likes to color, eat anything chocolate, chew gum and quote Kung Fu Panda.
Who wants to grow up to be tall like daddy and play baseball every waking moment- we love you Hobs, you have a special place in our family. Happy 4th birthday!
