Disney Day 2 : Epcot

On our second day at Disney World we went to Epcot.  Pam, Ev and I went to a character breakfast where five princesses were there.  Ev was so excited and wore her Rapunzel dress and crown.  While we were eating breakfast the boys were riding rides and having fun.  We met up and got to go to Turtle talk with Crush and The Finding Nemo ride before lunch.  After we had fun at Soarin, some Space rides/simulations, the Test track ride and others.

 

 In the countries part of Epcot, in Norway, was the Akershus Royal Banquet where we ate breakfast with the Princesses. 

 Each Princess would come to our table and talk with Ev, sign her autograph book and pose for pictures.  During our time there Ev got to participate in two Parades with the Princesses and other little girls around the banquet.  She was memorized and enjoyed every minute of this experience. 

 

 

Each girl started off getting their picture taken with Belle and when our breakfast was finished they gave us an 8x10 of the picture and 2 5x7's.

After this picture Cinderella and Ev twirled.

 

 In between Turtle Talk with Crush and the Nemo ride was an aquarium/ learning center that we all enjoyed.

 

Finding a spot in the shade to eat our lunch.  Todd rode around our entire time at Disney in a wheel chair.

 In the afternoon we went to some of the countries.  The first one we went to was China.  All of the shops and food places for China the workers were from China and spoke Chinese.  We wanted the kids to talk to them only in Chinese but it didn't happen. 

 

 

 

 

At the Chevrolet Test Track you designed your own car and then went on a test track/roller coaster ride testing your cars design against others. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Disney World Day 1: Magic Kingdom

We had the time of our lives in Florida at Disney World.  It really is a magical place.  We stayed at the Pop Century Resort and got to enjoy the benefits of getting picked up from the airport and taking the buses from our Resort to the Parks. 

 

We got to use the Magic Band + and so everyone had a different color band.  These were really amazing.  It was your room key, your park ticket, you could buy things at the parks with it, buy souvenirs/food at your resort, this really was everything. 

 

I did a lot of research for this trip and we decided to go the last weekend of April beginning of May because it was a low crowd week.  Because of this our cost of our rooms was lower and the crowds were not bad at all. A few days we had some rain showers but we got ponchos and kept on going.

 

We spent 7 days in Florida and spent 5 days at the Parks.

We went to the Magic Kingdom twice, Epcot twice, and Hollywood Studios once.  We spent the first afternoon at our resort then the next 3 days at parks and then took a day off.  Then we did a open to close at the Magic Kingdom the next day and then spent our last day at Epcot again.

I had toys/goodies for the kids to wake up to each morning and they had a note on them from a character that they would see in the park we were going to that day.  I had no idea that the kids would really believe it but they did.  They even asked the characters when we would meet them if they brought them toys that morning and every character said, "YES!"  I loved how the characters interacted with the kids. 

 

When we booked our reservations we told them we were celebrating Ian's birthday.  So when we arrived not only did the kids get buttons saying it was their first time at Disney, Ian got a birthday button.  Everyone at the park made sure to wish him a happy birthday. And Mickey and Minnie left a message on our phone in our room singing Happy Birthday to Ian.  That was really special for him.

 

We brought our breakfast, lunch and snacks to the park every day and this worked out really well for us. 

We arrived in the afternoon so we hung around our resort the first day since there was so much to do there.

 

Day 1: Magic Kingdom

 

 

 

 

 

 

We did a mix of meeting characters and kids rides and we had our Fast Passes in the afternoon.  Since the crowd was smaller it made the morning go really smooth and it wasn't until after lunch time that waiting in line started getting a little longer.  We were thankful to have our Fast Passes during that time. 

 

I had read about getting to the park an hour before it opened and that is what we did.  We had to go get a wheel chair for Todd and by being at the park when it opened it felt like we could get a lot done in the morning before lunch.

 

Most of the days we got there early and stayed until about dinner time.  Our second day at the Magic Kingdom we got there before the park opened and stayed until 11pm.  The weather was very sunny and so we saw 3 parades and the night show and fire works.
